Sarin SK, Sood OP. Eds. Proceedings of Round Table Conference on Hepatitis C Virus Infection. Ranbaxy Science Foundation, 15th October, 2001. Published by Yogesh Parcashan, New Delhi.

Ranbaxy Science Foundation has organized an excellent symposium called the "Round Table Conference on Hepatitis C virus Infection". This conference was held in October 2001 and the proceedings released recently. The editors are Drs. Shiv K. Sarin and O.P. Sood. The conference has addressed a single theme (Hepatitis C infection) and has facilitated the coming together of many of India's leading experts in the field. The proceedings make excellent reading and give state-of-the-art information in the field. All aspects are addressed by experts in a very focused manner. Overall the publication of the proceedings is a balanced document, which in particular gives expression for information generated in the country. Microbiologists will find the chapters on Biology, Epidemiology, Molecular features and laboratory diagnosis very interesting. This book should serve as a reference material for some time to come as each chapter provides a treasure trove of references.
